About ClanAdmin Tools

The story of a open source project

 The foundation of ClanAdmin Tools were created 2003 in a senior high school project. The task was to solve problems that clans might encounter when creating a site or expanding their current activity online. The first step doing this was to offer clans a complete admin solution that would give them a push in the right direction. Helping them to create a fully dynamic site that would be easy to manage, presenting the information required with just a few clicks. The second step in this procedure was to offer this solution free of charge. Cause we know that most clans lacks the finance to fund their activities. Most clans rely on funding from sponsors which is hard to get if you're new on the scene. So if you don't have the reputation that can help you to get sponsors, you're pretty stuck. It's from here we enter the stage, offering without demanding something in return. We don't care if you're member of the best clan online or if you've just started playing. A gamer is a gamer and we're here to help all gamers.

 There's lots of different Content Management Systems(CMS) available today. Lots of them are free of charge aswell, existed longer then us, offers alot of different functions and there's lots of people who can help you if something fail to work. So why should people then choose to use our application? Well nothing really. We're offering a relative small application that contains a small set of functions. The thing that might talk to our favor is the fact that we're gamers in our heart, we do know what most clans want to do with their sites. The newly created clan don't need to have millions of functions on their site. They just need a quick and simple way to deliver the latest game scores, information about their team and news covering the clans way to the top.

 The fact that we also know is that if something is to complicated to install, use or modify, people don't want to use it and moves on to the next application. We know cause we've been there. We have recieved our share of emails complaining that they can't install our application. We have answered lots of questions just targeting how to use our application. But most of all, we've seen people moved on from our application choosing a app that they think work better. We can't blame them, we might have done the same if something didn't work as we planned. But everytime this happends we learn a new lesson and for every new lesson learned we end up offering a better solution.

 ClanAdmin Tools are a relative young project. We've been online since 2003 in many different shapes. Year 2004 was the year when we took the step out and started clanadmintools.com and began to market ourself. And might we say that we've succeeded to get some attention. Everyday we find people talking about our services on forums, IRC etc. This makes us proud. Proud of making a application that really helps people. That's all that counts for us.

 By the way, the school project which founded ClanAdmin Tools did receive the highest grade possible, an A. Not bad ey?
